Microsoft Introduces Monthly Payments for BREP

In June, Microsoft announced changes to its payment policy, allowing customers to pay for ordinarily annual Dynamics NAV/Business Central On-Premise Maintenance (BREP) in monthly instalments.

Synergy Technology welcomes this change is good news for NAV/BC users, as it allows them to avoid the added financial burden of a larger annual payment in these uncertain times.

Monthly Payments for BREP

BREP is usually set up as an annual payment and subsequently represents a larger financial burden to users than lower monthly payments.

Now, Microsoft is allowing users to transfer the cost of the maintenance to a CSP license. This change allows the switch to a 12-month payment plan. In addition, this offer provides users with

Dual Use Licence rights, which means you can access a cloud-based version of Business Central. Thus can prove beneficial, should you wish to migrate to the cloud in the future.

To be eligible, you must have a current maintenance plan that is due for renewal. This can then be switched to a perpetual Business Central/Dynamics NAV license.

Microsoft has said this is a 12-month plan that can be extended for up to 2 years. At the end of this period, you can either revert to a traditional annual payment or transition to a license to pay per user per month.

Please note: BREP is still a 12-month contract but can now be split into 12 equal payments. Synergy Technology will only accept payment for monthly fees by Direct Debit*.

It is positive to see that Microsoft has listened to customer concerns and enabled users greater flexibility on their payment plans. This follows mounting pressure on the organisation since early April in the wake of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.
