Since 1st April 2019, Dynamics Nav has been re-branded as Dynamics 365 Business Central on-premises, in which Microsoft have stopped selling Dynamics Nav to new customers since Spring.
Therefore, Dynamics Nav 2018 will be the last version under the Nav brand name. However, Microsoft has announced that existing Dynamics Nav customers will still be able to purchase new licenses for their solution, as and when needed.
Microsoft will continue to offer their support for Dynamics Nav, but they are no longer releasing upgrades for Dynamics Nav 2018 and earlier Nav versions.
Furthermore, from 1st October 2019, Nav Subscription prices will be increased and aligned with the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ‘on-premise’ subscription prices. The new price list for Nav subscription will become available in October 2019. If you need any new users in the coming months, we recommend you buy now whilst it is at a cheaper rate to save yourself money.
Microsoft has announced though that all customers moving from ‘on-premise’ to the ‘cloud’ would receive a discount if purchased before October.
The new ‘On-Premises’ to ‘Cloud’ offers to include:
- Microsoft continuing to offer discounted pricing for ‘on-premises’ customers who want to move to the ‘cloud’. New ‘From SA’ SKUs are available from 1st October 2019.
- All Dynamics Nav ‘on-premises’ customers with an active ‘Enhancement Plan’ are eligible, (independent of licensed products, edition or version) to use the new ‘From SA’ SKUs.
- The number of users in the new license needs to be the same as the users in the current license. If a customer wants to buy more users, the regular pricing will apply.
