Dynamics 365 2024 Release Wave 1 Plan

Microsoft have recently announced the release plan for Dynamics 365 2024 release wave 1. As you probably know, Microsoft rolls out updates for Dynamics 365 on a 6 month cycle, consisting of 2 release waves per year. You can browse the release plan online (updated throughout the month), view it in the Release planner, or download the information as a PDF file below. The plan for 2024 release wave 1 covers new features for Dynamics 365 releasing from April 2024 though until September 2024.

The Microsoft Power Platform features coming in the 2024 release wave 1 have been summarised in a separate release plan as well as a downloadable PDF.

Dynamics 2024 Release Wave 1 Overview

Dynamics 365 2024 Release Wave 1 includes new innovations that give you powerful new options to completely change the way your business operates. Hundreds of new features have been added to Dynamics 365 applications with this release, including cross-app capabilities for finance and operations, sales, customer service, field service, finance, supply chain management, project operations, human resources, commerce, business central, guides, customer insights – data, and customer insights – journeys.

We will concentrate on the modules that Synergy Technology provide, namely Dynamics 365 Sales, Dynamics 365 Customer Service, Dynamics 365 Business Central and the Microsoft Power Platform.

Dynamics 365 Sales

The industry-leading sales tool, Dynamics 365 Sales, increases sales and improves customer understanding through data, insight, and intuitive user experiences. Wave 1 of the 2024 release is concentrated on giving sellers access to real-time consumer data, accelerating transactions with insights that can be put into practice, enhancing efficiency, and enabling enterprises with increased generative AI leadership and open configurability.

Microsoft Copilot for Sales expands on its innovative generative AI capabilities for sellers in Microsoft 365 with the addition of sales-specific skills, data, and actions. The update will also concentrate on helping sellers who are on the go via the Teams and Outlook mobile apps.

Dynamics 365 Customer Service

Agent productivity will be further enhanced by Dynamics 365 Customer Service via Copilot, response filtering, diagnostic tools for administrators and agents, and multi-session app usability enhancements. Microsoft are also refining the voice channel and increasing the accuracy and prioritisation of unified routing assignments. Dynamics 365 Business Central

Significant improvements are being made to Dynamics 365 Business Central, with a primary focus on utilising the power of Copilot. The team, which is present in more than 160 countries, is concentrated on using Copilot-driven skills to improve and accelerate workflow automation, enhance project and financial management, and strengthen reporting and data analysis capabilities. Along with handling data privacy and compliance better, Microsoft have also improved development and governance tools.

Key Dates for Microsoft Dynamics 2024 Release Wave 1

Below are the key dates for the 2024 release wave 1. Please note that these are only correct as of the time of writing. These release plans describe functionality that may not have been released yet. Delivery timelines and projected functionality may change or may not ship (see Microsoft policy).

Milestone Date Description
Release plans available January 25, 2024 Learn about the new capabilities coming in the 2024 release wave 1 (April 2024 – September 2024) across Dynamics 365, Microsoft Power Platform, and Microsoft Cloud for Industry.
Early access available February 5, 2024 Test and validate new features and capabilities that will be part of 2024 release wave 1, coming in April, before they are enabled automatically for your users. You can view the Dynamics 365 2024 release wave 1 early access features now.
Release plans available in additional languages February 19, 2024 The Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365 release plans are published in 11 additional languages: Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish, and Swedish. Microsoft Cloud for Industry release plans are published in 4 additional languages: French, German, Dutch and Spanish.
General availability April 1, 2024 Production deployment for the 2024 release wave 1 begins. Regional deployments will start on April 1, 2024.
